I achieved the following awards in this competition: National Level – Second Place, Provincial Level (Beijing) – First Place. I also possess a solid understanding of 5G base station construction and optimization.

National College Student 5G Mobile Communication Technology Competition

The National College Student 5G Mobile Communication Technology Competition is jointly organized by the Talent Exchange Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the China Communications Enterprise Association, with Datang Mobile Communication Equipment Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Municipal Education Commission’s Electronic Information Professional Group of Beijing Universities serving as co-organizers. Recognized as one of the most prestigious IT technology competitions in the domestic electronic information industry, this competition plays a significant role in promoting education reform and cultivating innovative 5G talent in universities.

The competition focuses on real equipment, real scenarios, and real-world problems. Contestants engage in hands-on engineering challenges in three core areas: 5G technology principles, 5G engineering practices, and 5G+ innovative applications.

Competition Content

1. 5G Wireless Technology Knowledge 

•Understanding the evolution of wireless technologies and the requirements of 5G scenarios and technologies.

•Familiarity with the 5G wireless network architecture and 5G wireless technologies, including massive MIMO, ultra-dense network deployment, full-spectrum access, new multiple access methods, advanced modulation and coding, duplexing technologies, and more.

•Mastering the 5G NR frame structure, spectrum allocation, and usage by different operators.

•Knowledge of time-frequency resource concepts, classification, physical channels, and signals in 5G, along with their functions.

2. 5G Network Technology Knowledge 

•Understanding the 5G network architecture and deployment of the access and core networks.

•Familiarity with SDN and NFV technologies.

•Mastering the functions of various 5G network elements, the protocol stack and its interfaces, and the characteristics of network deployment in different scenarios.

3. 5G Protocols and Signaling Knowledge 

•Understanding the data processing flow of 5G network elements and the fundamental principles of the 5G protocol stack interfaces.

•Mastering MM (Mobility Management) and SM (Session Management) processes, signaling processes in the 5G access network, and system message classifications.

•Familiarity with terminal state transitions, concepts and classifications of wireless bearers, mobility management, and PDU (Protocol Data Unit) handling.

4. 5G Engineering Practice Knowledge 

•Understanding the principles of network planning, including equipment and supporting facility planning, and wireless network capacity, coverage, and performance planning.

•Skills in telecom project construction and implementation, such as equipment installation standards, construction/acceptance standards, and more.

•Mastery of knowledge related to 5G system commissioning and operation, including data planning principles, equipment commissioning, troubleshooting methods, and network optimization practices.

5. 5G+ Vertical Industry Applications Knowledge (20%)

•Mastering the concepts and applications of 5G+ Internet of Vehicles (IoV), including network architecture, mainstream deployment solutions, and V2X (Vehicle-to-Everything) communication standards.

•Designing intelligent connected vehicle solutions based on 5G technology and implementing cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems.
